I. BACKGROUND
This project consists of professional
architectural and engineering services for the design of one fire
station facility to be located in the far west side of the
un-incorporated land of Bexar County.
II. SCOPE OF
SERVICES
The proposed scope of work will include, but
is not limited to, verification and documentation of the existing site
conditions of design, preparation of construction documents, and
administration for related work.
The fire station will consist of, but is not
limited to:

One 60’ X 90’ fire station

Building shall
include apparatus room with 3 drive-thru bays, sleeping quarters for
four, restrooms with showers, day room, kitchen, office and storage
room.

Site evaluation and design
-
Work with residential subdivision for
utility services.

Approach, drive, parking and drainage.
The selected consultant will provide design
services including, but not limited to architectural, civil, MEP, and
structural, as well as environmental analysis, design and construction
administration.
The estimated combined design and
construction cost for this project is $420,000.
III. SCHEDULE
The Geronimo Village Volunteer Fire
Department is working with Emergency Services District #2 in
constructing this station to serve the southern part of our response
area. Completion of project shall be determined by the selected
professional consultant and within a reasonable time frame.
IV. SUBMISSION
REQUIREMENTS
Respondent’s submittal shall include the
following items in the following sequence:
1. Interest Statement
2. List of Subcontractors
3. Respondent shall complete the AIA form
B431-1993 and include it as part of
submittal
4. Proof of Insurability
Respondent shall submit a letter from
insurance provider stating provider’s commitment to insure the
respondent for the types of coverage’s and at the levels specified in
this RFQ if awarded a contract in response to same.
5. Signature Page
Respondent must complete and include the
Signature Page with submittal. The Signature Page must be signed by a
person, or persons, authorized to bind the entity, or entities
submitting the qualification statement. Submittals signed by a person
other than an officer of the company or partner of the firm shall be
accompanied by evidence of authority.
6. Submittal Checklist
Respondent is expected to examine this RFQ
carefully, understand the terms and conditions for providing the
services listed herein and respond completely.
FAILURE TO
COMPLETE AND PROVIDE ANY OF THESE DOCUMENTS MAY RESULT IN THE
RESPONDENT’S SUBMITTAL BEING DEEMED NON-RESPONSIVE AND THEREFORE
DISQUALIFIED FROM CONSIDERATION.
V. SUBMISSION
INSTRUCTIONS
A. Respondent shall provide eight (8) copies
of their submittal,
one (1) clearly
marked original and signed in blue ink
and seven (7) duplicates. All copies must be
submitted in a sealed package, clearly marked on the front of the
package
“GVVFD SOUTH FIRE STATION.”
All submittals must be received at
the Geronimo Village Volunteer Fire Station #1 and to an Officer or
Senior Firefighter no later than
3:00 p.m.
local time,
WEDNESDAY, October
31, 2007 at the address below. Any
submittal received after this time shall not be considered.
